Since childhood Shaun has had a passion for horses. In his teenage years he was introduced to the sport of reining and he was hooked.

Shaun became the youngest rider in Australiato reach $200,000 in career earnings and in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 he was Australia’s leading money earning rider. Shaun has won or placed in every major event in Australia.

In 2014 Shaun competed at the World Equestrian Games in Normandy France, in which the team secured 5th place over all, Australia's best ever team result.

Saunders Performance Horses has been operating out of a facility located at Wamuran, training Futurity and Aged event horses for the past five years. Also offering training and coaching to Non Professionals and their horses.

Shaun does it again...

Shaun finishes the 2016 year as Australia's leading money earner for the fourth year in a row. Shaun won Equitana for the second time in a row on his great mare Whiz Destiny putting her over $30,000 in earning's and capping off a great career. QXH Docs Stylish Oak finished fourth and also capped off a great year. Thankyou to the clients, sponsors, horses, friends and family that have supported Team Saunders Performance Horses over the past five years.
Pacific Coast Reining Spectacular 2016

The 2016 Pacific Coast Reining Spectacular saw QXH Docs Stylish Oak owned by Xtreme Quarter Horses take out the Open Derby. After a week of cold and wet weather, 'Phoenix' put on a great performance and wowed the crowd with his powerful stops.
ARBC - Australian Reining Breeders Cup 2016

The 2016 ARBC was Condor Smart Play's first show for his new owner Jason Melling. What a great show it was, Shaun and 'Red' winning Reserve Champion in the Open Derby with a big score on 148.5.
